A mask worn by Michael Jackson and a pair of opera glasses used by U.S. President Abraham Lincoln were put up for auction yesterday. The items went on display in Los Angeles at Nate D. Sanders auctions.
While Jackson wore a variety of masks in public over the past few decades, this one is particularly significant as it was specifically designed for him. It is expected to sell for as much as 50,000 dollars.
The other item up for sale – Lincoln’s opera glasses – were actually used the night he was assassinated on April 14, 1865. Lincoln carried the German-manufactured glasses to a show of “Our American Cousin” at Ford’s Theater. Both items will hit the auction block on April 30.
